Ride with Bicycle Longmont, Saturday mornings this spring/summer/and fall! In 2011 we had great success getting more people riding bikes.
These Saturday rides will begin and end at the Boulder County Farmer's Market at the Fairgrounds. The ride will be 95% paved trail with a few short sections of road riding.
Rides will also include a few lessons on bike safety and bike maintenance. The purpose of these rides will be to get comfortable riding bikes, develop a familiarity with the St. Vrain Greenway and southwest Longmont and confidence riding in bike lanes on neighborhood streets. We also hope you'll learn a little about maintaining your bike, too.
The ride will be open to anyone of any age. Families, singles, empty-nesters etc. The first half the season will take place using the St. Vrain Greenway, Airport Road trail, Lykins Gulch Greenway and Dry Creek Greenway. We will mix things up during the second half of the season.
The begining route will be approximately 6 miles and very easily done on a single speed, 3-speed or with additional gears.
Spandex not required! :) Kids are welcome, but should be seven years of age or greater and able to ride the stated distance.
