2nd Annual LTRC Winter Solstice Run

I've spoken with at least a few of you and there's definitely still interest in running on Saturday...even if the weather outside is frightful.  I'm planning on it and will test run Red Rocks beforehand to make sure its safe.  In the event that it's unsafe in there, we could run an alternate street route.

A few things to note - wear a headlamp and be prepared for snow or slush! It'll be a slow go, but should be fun and memorable.

It turns out that Arts Riot has an event with a cover charge, so I'm recommending that post-run dining be relocated to The Spot on Shelburne Road.  They can accommodate a group of variable size as walk-ins and are excited to have us.  This may be a better venue as we could probably take the place over.  They have a good mix of healthy and hearty menu options with at least a few veg choices.

If for some unfortunate reason, you're not going to make it...please RSVP no.  That way we're not waiting around too long at the trailhead.  I'll let The Spot know roughly how many to expect when we start the run.

I think you're right, Paula. The weather isn't cooperating. I think I'm going to have to pull the plug on this one... Be safe everyone!

I just tried to walk from my front door to my car and gave up. It's just not worth it. I don't think I will be running tonight, unless the weather improves dramatically.

Hey gang - I just did a test run at Red Rocks and it is definitely slick in there. With safety in mind, I'm going to come up with a "contingency plan" road loop originating from Red Rocks and about 4-5 miles.

I ran at Red Rocks Wednesday night, and it was lovely. Hopefully we'll be slip-sliding on snow, not ice....

Hi All, I have been dealing with some crazy neck issues and have not been able to run or arrange any food reservations. I am looking for someone to take over as leader of the event. It sould not involve to much work, Basically marking the course in some fashion so people don't get lost and coordinating with a restuarant for eating afterwards.

If you are interestred please contact me and I will talk it through with you and give you the prosed loop for the run.

I really want this to become an annual event but as I am heading towards surgery for this I am unable to mange the event this year.
