The hike was perfect weather - you worry warts who cancelled because of rain??? You missed out. Sun was out, no puddles - 7 miles with several stops. The only hard part was coming down Deeds Way which for me was tough because of my bum leg. However everyone else loved it.

This is a slower paced Intermediate "social hike" yet, because of the inclines and the distance, I labeled it as a Intermediate Hike. so if you're a speed demon ... please don't start whining !!!! This "social hike" hike based on meeting the designated goal: the Historic Mt. Lee and not on a timed schedule yet, the time will be kept in strong consideration through out the hike for I will not go over the maximum time posted.
"NOTE", the suggested time to arrive is 8:15 AM at the meeting location for this event also, The Pace, destination and the "amount of stops" are at the discretion of the Hike leader also ... " the Legend Ranger Lee and the honorable Mr. Deeds grades me with an ' A' for Hike Leading ....

RSVP is still open. I woke up and checked the national weather service. I've been sick (and indoors for days), otherwise 42 F wouldn't bother me.

Hiking in the rain is an adventure...only if it is not pouring. Most of the trails are actually fireroads which readily absorb moisture.

I always carry one of those crappy 99 cent "hooded plastic ponchos" just in case. They certainly come in handy and take up virtually no space in your pack.

Will the rain cancel the hike out? And, I agree, I absolutely love the Hiking Group, and am looking forward to more adventures.

Please let us know if the rain is hard enough to cancel or light rain we still hike?

He says 3-1/2 hours so I assume around noon....
That seems about right for a medium paced 8 mile hike through GP.

Ken, I am looking for a pic I took at the top of Burbank Peak (West of Mt. Lee)....a perfect spot to constuct a cabin.
