Here is a link to an article I wrote for the International Vegetarian Union on Leonardo da Vinci's ethical vegetarianism: http://www.ivu.org/history/davinci/hurwitz.html I'm an ex-engineer trying to put together a start-up team for a re-imagined web-based 'debate' that aims to supersede the failed, superficial public debate as we know it. It hopes to bring together leading authorities on issues such as global Warming, immigration, and the so-called war on drugs in a manner that enables a mutual-Socratic conversation steeped in scientific methodology in an exciting to watch format. There should be low hanging fruit on those issues because the sides claim science or scholarship and yet they contradict each other! Falsehood cannot bear intense scrutiny!
It's always nice to meet people that think it's wrong to cause suffering and death to animals when there are delicious and healthy alternatives.
Maybe an open mike culture night where people get a certain amount of time to perform, read, talk, etc.
I've been an L.A. vegan for 22 years this November (as of 2014). I have always enjoyed good health while enjoying my share of vegan cookies. Why kill for food in paradise?
