Introduction

Hi new to meetups and to photography. I'm starting classes and look forward to photoshoots with other photographers. I love art in general and most things creative. Looking forward to meeting new friends with similar interests.

What kind of Art Meetup events would you like to see us facilitate? (ex. museum outings - art openings - workshops - etc.)

Gallery Exhibit openings, Museums, photo shoots, cultural arts festivals, it's all good.

What do you feel is missing from the "Art World"?

Exposure, education & opportunity for our youth. Particularly those from challenging or lower economic environments.

Which artist(s) inspire you?

Some of the usual masters Rivera, Picasso, Muro, Khalo, Sequieros, and contempory Patssi Valdez, Annie Lebowitz, D. Whitaker, Gronk, Alexandra Nichita...the list goes on and on

Are you an artist? If so, what type of art do you create?

I describe myself as an artist in search of my medium. I am a collector of "chicano art" and have established a small collection that I am rather proud of. Currently I am exploring the world of photography.

Which part of the "art world" interests you? (ex. museums, contemporary art, sculptures, antiques, jewelry, etc.)

Most of it, fine art, photography, sculptures, antiques. As mentioned I have a particular interest in "chicano art". However I very much appreciate most creative efforts and genres.

We are monitoring the weather to see what it's going to do. I have some people who are coming whether it rains or not. They say that they do not get rain even when forcasted for that area but we don't really know. It's up to you ultimately - I'm still going on Sunday. :)

I am so glad I dont have to compete for work anymore...this digital era makes it 5 times harder...there are so many people out there now with cameras it is unreal...not like 25 years ago...I am so glad I am retired.
