What kind of Art Meetup events would you like to see us facilitate? (ex. museum outings - art openings - workshops - etc.)

Talks with the artist or curator. Special viewings that are not open to the public, tours of the Getty restoration dept.

What do you feel is missing from the "Art World"?

Craft, technique. In many cases I feel like the artist "threw the baby out with the bath water" and called it art. The story of The King with invisible clothes comes to mind all too often when I visit galleries. Doesn't anyone study painting anymore?

Innes, Raphael, Giotto, The Hudson River School painters, Nelson Shanks, too many to mention

Are you an artist? If so, what type of art do you create?

Yes I am a working artist and in fact I opened my own Art School/Academy 2 years ago--Kline Academy of Fine Art. Since I have a classical background, I love to work figuratively - portraits, and the sky.

Which part of the "art world" interests you? (ex. museums, contemporary art, sculptures, antiques, jewelry, etc.)
