The LADA is partnering (more like crashing) one of Westside Geeks awesome events! Join us for the a Game Fest & Potluck! The LADA has 15 spots for this cool event so be sure to RSVP to hold your spot!
The Game Fest Potlucks are very lively, super fun, highly diverse, and social, featuring gaming, foods, and drink of all kinds!
If you love all-night gaming, cool geek company, and lots of food, this event's for you!
Some of the games we'll be having:
-XBox Live & Kinect (various floor/singing/dancing and online games available for play)
-PS3 console and games
-Wii console & games
-Tons of board, strategy, puzzle, card, and table games of all kinds
-If weather permits, outdoor/backyard games with more tables/chairs arrangements
If some of you would like to set up contest games that feature awards and prizes, then we can discuss this in the commentary section and brainstorm over ideas and setup.
Here are some games to consider contributing:
Adult-themed trivia games, XBox games, PS3 games, Wii Console and games, Twister, Chess, Go!, Memory, Mahjong, jigsaw puzzles, card games Jenga, Dixit (any version in the series), Checkers, Scrabble, Pictionary, Lego block sets, chess, Connect Four, Dominoes, various word games, Munchkin, strategy games, and much more.
As mentioned before, there are also some old school arcade games and a pool table available for guests.
For the potluck, please feel free to bring homemade food, dinner foods, packaged snacks and drinks, various tasty finger foods, and desserts!
We had LOTS of yummy food at the last three events, which was amazing!
Here are some ideas (no one should come empty-handed as this is a POTLUCK):
-Sushi platters (both traditional and vegetarian)
-Dinner foods (enchiladas, casseroles, sliders, pastas, burritos, tacos, wraps, etc.)
-Cookies and crackers
Chips, popcorn, and dips
--Sandwiches and salads
-Cool & unique ethnic desserts and dishes of any kind
-Cupcakes, brownies, pies, and cakes
-Sodas, punches, wines, juices, and water (whatever else you can think of)
-Breads, noodle dishes, and rice blends
To make the food variety a lot more fair and even, put a effort into what you'll bring. This doesn't mean to spend LOTS of money, but it means it would suck if nearly everyone brought a bag of chips, while a few people put in time and effort to bring in foods people could substantially enjoy throughout the night. It takes a lot of effort for me to put this event together monthly (money and time), so guests should keep this in mind as attendees.
Also consider those who might be vegan, vegetarian, or sensitive to gluten. It's good to have something available for everyone.
Last but not least, please bring the most important thing of all:
An unadulterated desire and craving to have lots of fun!
