Grammy winner Poncho Sanchez performs at one of the most spectacular waterfront settings in Los Angeles, Chace Park in Marina Del Rey. Join us before the concert for a Picnic Meet & Greet.
The dazzling rhythms of conguero Poncho Sanchez has made him one of the most influential percussionists in Afro-Cuban jazz. His infectious style harmoniously collides fragments of Latin jazz, swing, bepop, and salsa, as heard in his albums Latin Soul, Psychedelic Blues, Chano y Dizzy and Live in Hollywood.
The best part of attending a concert in the park is the picnic. This is where you'll make new friends and say "Hi" to old ones. A great way to meet someone is to offer them something! So... bring something to share! Either some wine or some finger eats such as charcuterie, salumi, cheeses, fresh produce such as grapes, dried fruits such as dates or nuts, olives, bread--foods that are easy to eat without utensils.
Chace Park is 10 acres of lush lawn and trees which extends into the Marina’s main channel offering magnificent boat and ocean vistas. It is surrounded on three sides by water. Seating is first-come first-served. Parking: Public Lot #4 – 13500 Mindanao Way; one block from Chace Park. Public Lot #5 – 4545 Admiralty Way; three blocks from Chace Park. Dock 52 – 13501 Fiji Way; three blocks from Chace Park. Concert parking is not allowed in Waterside Shopping Center.
