Symphony In The Glen joins forces with the exciting Independent Shakespeare Company (ISC) to present “Touches of Sweet Harmony”, a unique pairing of the Bard’s immortal words with music from the greatest classical composers. There will be a Picnic Meet & Greet before the concert.
This magical evening features an inspired pairing of Shakespeare’s words with the music of Prokofiev, Resphighi, Faure, Sibelius, Stravinski, Holst, Shostakovich, Parry and Sir William Walton; with selections read by ISC members Thomas Ehas, Joseph Culliton and Claudia de Vasco.
Symphony in the Glen, led by Maestro Arthir B. Rubinstein, has performed landmark concerts in Griffith Park since 1994. Since 1994, over 60,000 Angelenos have come to hear Symphony In The Glen perform more than 200 classical works during 42 free concerts.
PICNIC MEET & GREET
The best part of attending a concert in the park is the picnic. This is where you'll make new friends and say "Hi" to old ones. A great way to meet someone is to offer them something! So... bring something to share! Either a refreshing beverage or some finger eats such as charcuterie, salumi, cheeses, fresh produce such as grapes, dried fruits such as dates or nuts, olives, bread--foods that are easy to eat without utensils.
