The Palisades Symphony presents Verdi's choral masterpiece, Messa de Requiem, featuring the Brentwood-Palisades Chorale. Sometimes called an opera disguised as sacred music, the Requiem will leave you breathless as it cries out for eternal rest, forgiveness and redemption. It's Ok to come by yourself--you won't be by yourself for long!
Requiem is a conductor's dream come true. Requiem offers the drama of opera and the thrill of wonderful symphonic writing combined with stellar, virtuosic solo moments. Written to honor the great Italian writer Manzoni, it's a monumental piece with all the dramatic power and expressive lyricism of Verdi’s operas and one of music's grandest expressions of the human experience.
The Palisades Symphony is a community orchestra and was founded in 1966 by director Joel B. Lish. LAFC Member Geoffrey Maingart is the concertmaster.
