As we all know I try to keep mass emails to a minimum to try to respect overcrowded inboxes, but I this is a case where I will break the rules. One of our members, Robin, has had several health problems with her little pug Orion and is in need of help. Please read the below email and write me back if there is anything you can or want to do to help:
Hello, it is me, Robin Davidson, 8 months later asking for your help again for my pug, Orion. His mast cell tumors have not returned, but he has developed kidney stones that have lodged in his urinary track.
I love my sweet pug and made sure his health and medical needs have been met. I have spent almost $10,000 on him as of today, and I am out of money. To make matters worse, I have just taken a pay cut and my daughter will have to leave the college she has been attending to attend a less expensive one near home.
Orion, needs surgery this afternoon and I was only able to cover one-half of it (and that's after paying for the emergency veterinary hospital last night of almost $1,000). I am asking your organization to donate whatever it can to help me meet the additional $1,000 in costs. Further, there is a chance the surgery will not be successful given the location of the stone and he may have to go to a special surgeon for more surgery - I wont know that yet until late today (but will be likely and could be up to $5,000 more). In the meantime, I am out of credit and money both.
I would appreciate it if you could help me find individuals and organizations to help me pay for some of these costs. Anyone is free to call my vet, if it helps, as they will accept funds on Orion's behalf directly so the money need not go to me. They can speak with Karen or Kirsten at the Pet Medical Center in Santa Monica [masked]).
Thanks you so much. Robin Davidson
