Hi John,
Sorry if my Ft Knox Sys Admin notice is inappropriate for this forum, but if it isn't, please forward it along. All my old unix friends for referrals are still somewhere at AT&T somewhere on the East Coast. I had one too many job offers and thought I'd help out. Many Thanks

Lots of interesting things to talk about this month:
• Encryption - strong encryption, metadata obfuscation, etc.
• Restore the Fourth
• Software Freedom Day
• Javascript
• The R Project for Statistical Computing
Jim Troy will tell us about the R Project for Statistical Computing (Jim had planned to do as part of last month's program, but we ran out of time.)
Barton Chittenden has suggested we discuss encryption (and John Hicks seconded that). Here are a couple of good links on the general subject of privacy and security:
And we are all enrolled in one of these courses, right?

Brandon Keibler may attend to tell us about the local Restore the Fourth group.
Hector Escobedo may attend to propose holding a local Software Freedom Day on September 21.
Alex Bezuska is planning on attending to discuss forming a Javascript group.
