Friday Open Game Night at Barnes and Noble

After much confusion we have a spot to start running out Friday Open Game night!

This game night will allow players to come and play all types of tabletop RPGs at a neutral location. We will be having our first meetup at Barnes and Noble in Plainview (for more information click the link at the bottom). If all goes well the game night will be every other Friday at 6pm at Barnes and Noble.

We need players and DMs, and we have Swag to give away at each event!

If you RSVP and then attend a game for open game night you get to put your name in a hat for a prize drawing at the end of the evening. If you RSVP and then DM a table at the open game night you get 2 slips in the hat for the prize drawing. Depending on number of players we will give out more and more shiney prizes. For this introductory meetup we will be giving out a miniature (worth about $20 if you felt like selling it on Ebay).

If you want to come feel free to just show up. You don't need anything other than your dice and a willingness to play or DM. If you do not RSVP you cannot get swag, if you RSVP and don't show up (without saying anything) I will be disinclined to give you swag when you do show up.

There are no set tables, there are no set DMs, there are no set games. So we always "have a spot open" for you at the table.

We will be running Living Forgotten Realms modules to start everything off. Eventually we may branch out from there, but that is our start point. For more on LFR, or to find information about making characters, see their site at

Modules run so far:
SPEC 5-1

Priority DMs (These people get first chance to be DMs if they want a double shot at the swag):
Corey Beck

Danger list (These people were no-shows after RSVPing. After 2 such instances, you go on the shit list):
Mike Hemmen

Shit list (These people have no chance at getting swag. Don't RSVP and not show up, you lose free stuff that way.):
Nobody yet...

Somehow the date was put up wrong (completely my fault!). Luckily I know several of the people knew better than to follow my ability to click on dates on a calendar. For clarity sake this is supposed to be on Feb 15 not Feb 22. It will be a sad day if you come there on the 22nd as I will be in MA.

Gary, what was the rules system we need to build Characters by Convention/sanctioned DnD?

Might do a Striker this time around.

Last time we gave out a promo Ogre Pulverizer. Next time if we get some more people I might be able to give out something even cooler!
