The Louisville Hiking Group's mission is to create a vibrant, fun, and friendly community of local hikers, backpackers, and campers. Everyone from beginners to experts are welcome; the only requirement for membership is a love and respect for the outdoors. Every week there's at least one event, and most weeks there are several. Locations range from the local Louisville area to as far away as Georgia and Wyoming!
In addition to hitting the trail, we have social events, equipment meetups, and volunteer adventures. Expect to have a lot of fun and meet a lot of new people!

Strenuous Dayhike
Length: 8 or 9 miles
Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous
Pace: slowest hiker

Hike Description
This is supposed to be one of the better dayhikes in the Red. I haven't actually hiked it myself, so it will be an "exploratory" meetup. The hike follows the cliffy Auxier Ridge. This ridge has lots off cliffline and overlooks. Read more
