A Stroll in the Woods - 3.5 Mi Hike in JMF (Blue trail) Sunday

Want to hike on JMF trails but new to hiking or seeking more of a scenic hike??? Don't worry we've got you covered! This hike will be at relaxed comfortable walking pace and although it's listed as "strenuous" on the map there is only one steep hill that we can take plenty of time hiking up!

Trail: Welcome Center to Yost connector to Blue/Mitchell Hill Lake Loop (counter clockwise) back to Yost connector and then to welcome center.

Pace: Comfortable to allow conversation and sight seeing.

What to bring: Water.

Pets: Dogs will love the lake portion assuming they love water.

So come out and try it out for a little bit of exercise or just come to socialize while checking out something different.

Directions to Welcome Center: 1. From I-65 take I-265 West (Gene Snyder Freeway). 2. Take the New Cut Road exit and turn left (south). 3. Travel approximately 1.2 miles. At the yellow flashing light, turn right onto Mitchelll Hill Road. 4. Travel 1.5 miles. Turn left into the Welcome Center parking lot (11311 Mitchell Hill Road). The Welcome Center is a white, two-story building with a red roof.

We will check the this trail the day before we go. Another possibility is to move this hike to the Horine Section and go on Cemetary Road. It is a gravel road with little or no mud. We value your opinions and wish you would leave on here. Again, this is only an option in case the normal route is muddy and dangerous for beginners.

We will definitely go sloooooooooooooow on this one. There will be lead AND a sweep.

In the event this rain should make the trail so muddy that it would be impossible to navigate it safely we do have another option available to us JMF.
