3.3 Mile Moderate to Strenuous hike featuring Scott's Gap Trail in JMF

New Time 6:30 pm

Feeling like you need new challenge or possibly new moderate to strenuous trail to hike? Let's switch it up a bit and hike the Scott's Gap Trail in JMF. This hike has lots of great scenery so enjoy the views while burning those calories!

Where to meet: Parking lot of Scott's Gap Trail (off of Stonestreet)

Pace: moderate hiking.

Note: This hike will start at 6:00 p.m. We will be leaving to hike on the trail by 6:05 at the latest so please come early to allow time for you to use bug spray and get warmed up.

What to bring: Water, Bug Spray, Bandana (optional) and great big smile!

Directions: Gene Snyder West to Stonestreet Rd. (it's past National Turn Pike & New Cut Rd exits) turn left at bottom of Stonestreet exit. Stonestreet will turn into Blevins Gap Rd. You will follow this road for about 6 miles or so. Do NOT turn when you see the Welcome Center sign! Keep straight! Scott's Gap will be about three miles further down the road. Turn left onto Scott's Gap road (or as I like to think of it the road with the HUGE house on the corner) and the parking lot is a few miles down on the right. Please email me if you need further directions.

Please be on time. There is no cellphone service out there. I am leaving now for the Bonus hike and won't be able to check Meetup again. Thanks and see you out on the trail.

At starting time the will see a fairly warm 85 degrees. Please bring plenty of water and bug spray. If any of you want to start early we would be in on that one. Let us know. We were thinking of 5pm or earlier.

I'll be a last minute decision as I have a bunch of projects to do today. Loved hiking this trail last week!!

Unfortunately, 630 is too late for me to start. I'm going to hike this solo at 6. I'm going CCW, so I will see you all on the trail.

I'm angling to leave early and get there by 5PM, so that I can do the double. My 8PM mtg. has also been pushed back 30 min. so I have a little more time too.
