Get your Thanksgiving Day off to a great start by joining your hiking friends on the Scott's Gap Trail. We will throw our turkeys in the oven early and start this hike at 8:30 a.m. We will do one clockwise lap, but some of the hikers have expressed an interest in possibly doing additional laps. If you would like to do bonus laps, please post in the comments section. We hope you will join us in burning enough calories for a second piece of pumpkin pie and a guilt-free football viewing coma day!
Where to meet: Parking lot of Scott's Gap Trail (off of Stonestreet)
Pace: moderate to strenuous hiking.
What to bring: Water, Bug Spray, Bandana (optional) and great big smile!
Directions: Gene Snyder West to Stonestreet Rd. (it's past National Turn Pike & New Cut Rd exits) turn left at bottom of Stonestreet exit. Stonestreet will turn into Blevins Gap Rd. You will follow this road for about 3 miles or so. Do NOT turn when you see the Welcome Center sign! Keep straight! You will see a sign for Scott's Gap. Turn left onto Scott's Gap road (or as I like to think of it the road with the HUGE house on the corner) and the parking lot is a few miles down on the right. Please email me if you need further directions.
