Snowy Saturday 10 Mile Early Morning JMF Horine Trail Mix

A scenic workout hike for those who wish to enjoy morning in the forest.

* Difficulty level: Strenuous due to steep hills, distance, and pace

* Distance, Pace, and Duration: 10 miles, faster pace workout, about 3-1/2 to 4 hours

* Route:  A mix of the Blue, Red, and Orange trails in the Horine Section, starting from the Welcome Center

* Regrouping: We will stay together the entire hike and take several short breaks

* What to Bring: Comfortable shoes, lots of water, a snack

* Special considerations: Very unlikely that there will be encounters with poison ivy, ticks or poisonous snakes in the winter.

I took a diversion onto the YT. Started 45 minutes late. Sorry I missed you all.

I am going to be late, for certain, so please start without me.

I won't make it today. I'm sorry to cancel-- especially after Michael changed the time for me. I've been up since 2 am and need to try to get some sleep.

What will be the least-worst path to JMF at 7AM tomorrow? I'm worried that Synder will be a parking lot.

I don't know. The only alternative I know is taking Outer Loop from I-65, but that's just a short part of the Snyder.

Looks like the snow never developed. But it will still be a good hike.

I might still come if roads don't look too bad in the morning... Please let me know if you cancel...

The drive to the hike might be as much of an adventure as the hike itself! We'll find out in the morning.
