Saturday Early Morning 13 (or 7) mile Millennium Trail Workout Hike

A scenic workout hike for those who wish to enjoy morning in the forest.

Starting from the Garden Pavilion parking lot (not the Guerrilla Hollow Picnic Area) so we don't have to cross the creek. See below for directions to the Garden Pavilion parking lot.

If someone wants to hike half the trail and not the full 13 miles, they can arrange to park at the end of Paul's Point Circle (see map link) and find someone to give them a ride to the Garden Pavilion parking lot to start the hike.

Difficulty level: Very strenuous due to steep hills, distance, and pace

Distance, Pace, and Duration: About 13 miles, faster pace workout,  about 4-1/2 hours. Option to hike half for a 7 mile hike.

Route:  The Millenium Trail clockwise.

Regrouping: We will stay together the entire hike and take several short breaks

What to Bring: Comfortable shoes, lots of water, a snack

Special considerations: There will be a $5 per car fee to get in if the entry station is staffed. It probably won't be at 8 am but it's a good idea to have some cash just in case. Either me or someone else will drive to Guerrilla Hollow to sign the group in at the kiosk before the hike starts.

Directions to Garden Pavilion Parking Lot: Drive into the main Bernheim entrance from KY 245. Go past the entry station, take the first right (Arboretum Way - don't go left toward the Visitor Center) then take the first right into the Garden Pavilion Parking Lot.

I liked this trail a lot. I thought it was a little easier than the Siltstone, and there was a lot more variety in the scenery. We'll do it again in two weeks. Once May gets here the ticks, chiggers, and weeds will be back so it won't be as nice of a hike.

We are pretty fast but won't leave anyone behind. If you're not sure you could do half the hike. See Tom's post below.

I will give anyone a ride that only wants to do half from Pauls Point Circle to the Garden Pavilion Parking Lot. Trail is in good shape. Really a nice hike. Just a few muddy spots.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
