Be a responsible pittie owner

As I am moving back to the States with my 3 year old pittie and facing the horrible ideas people have about them someone recommended I get him tested with the American Temperament Test Society. They have a temperament test you can have your dog take (12 minutes long, fairly simiple) and that you get a certificate for when your dog passes. Bull terriers do very well in the test and having the certificate shows people you're a responsible owner. There are scheduled tests in Texas coming up. If you're interested, here's their web site:

This is a great idea! I would also recommend getting a CGC cert. (Canine Good Citizen). Lee Mannix offers a good class that can get you ready for the test. (. Dog Boys also offers one() The American Kennel Club offers the test ( dog is tested in several areas such as walking through a crowd, meeting a stranger with a dog, hitting a perfect recall and other obedience requirements. YOu also receive a certificate from the AKC which states that your dog can maintain himself as an upstanding member of your community. These are both wonderful tools to change peoples minds about our dogs. THis will also help in renting a house or an apartment when you can show these kinds of certificates.
