Staines to Windsor - The Thames Riverside Bank Holiday Walk

Why not help celebrate the bank holiday with a leisurely 9 mile walk along the Thames taking in the banks and locks? We will pass through Runnymede Pleasure Grounds where we can indulge in ice creams, before finally landing in central Windsor. Join us today for an entertaining afternoon taking in the shimmering sights. Once in Windsor we will probably stop off at "All Bar One" in the magnificently restored and grand Central Station for a well deserved cool drink and evening meal for those that wish. We can return to Staines by train from Windsor and Eton Riverside Station, a short 18 minute journey costing £4.50 and running half hourly. Free street parking is usually available in the Leacroft area of Staines.

This is a joint event with Surrey Friends Meetup Group.

Walk is flat but strong walking boots and outdoor attire recommended.

£2 per person for meetup funds applies.

Tim, May bugs! They apparently live in the water and once every couple of years they come up, mate for like 24 hours, the male then dies, the female returns to the water to lay the eggs and then dies. So there you have it (well according to this dude at the pub).

I thought they lived for 24 hours, made friends and died ;-)

I'm so sorry I didn't make it - was ill over the weekend and forgot to cancel. I hope it went well.

I can't make it as I realised that pretty far from north west London and I can't able to arrive on time. Maybe next time.
