West Ashley Wordsmiths

Tentative agenda:

1. Find the place. Total Wine & More is located on Ashley River Road (Hwy 61) at the intersection with Sam Rittenberg Blvd. (across from the Barnes and Noble shopping center).

2. Introductions as necessary, to include:

A. Background.
B. Writing aspirations.
C. What you would like to get from these meetings.

3. Optional assignment for those who need a nudge:

Write about a day in your life from the point of view of some inanimate object in your home.

4. Share work for feedback. Please don’t let a lack of work keep you from attending. It is our mission to help you light that spark. If you post work ahead of time in The Reviewing Arena on the Message Board under the “Discussions” link at the top of your screen, we’ll be able to provide more constructive reviews based on detailed analysis.

5. Some spontaneous conjuring to stir the embers of your imagination.

6. Open forum. Topics could include, but are not limited to:

A.  Finding ideas.

B.  Progressive complications.

C.  Dream weaving.

Let the creativity flow from your soul!

Thanks to all who persisted to make the most of a rough situation after that last minute change of locations!

The input is invaluable, thanks to all who offered their comments. This is all very exciting to me. The writing exercise does illustrate how unique we all are. As Janice observed, everyone had a distinct, orinal piece of writing; there were no duplicates. I think evryone has a voice whether they know it or not, and even if they know it, i' m not sure i know thr depth and breadth of it. that's what is so thrilling about writing. The mystery of self-discovery. Have fun with your writing this week and happy Thanksgiving to all.

Rob have you heard of Michael Hyatt? He wrote Platforms, I believe this would help.

there are a lot of alternatives for publishing now - POD and e-books to name just two. Many 'new' writers choose to go this route. The problem (in my mind) is marketing. How do you get the word out and get readers (and sales)? This may be a step beyond writing workshops and/or support groups or maybe not..

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
