Recapping the Charleston.com presentation

Mr. David McGarry, managing partner of Capitis Media, shared his vision for developing a working relationship with interested members of our group. By projecting the voices of Charleston, he plans to build a unique brand, which will capture the excitement of our city on his website:  http://www.charleston.com/hotels.aspx#

BACKGROUND:

Capitis Media is an internet marketing and web design firm, specializing in search engine optimization and lead conversion.

 http://www.capitismedia.com/

Since the first of this year, they have been creating and managing domains for various cities around the country, including Atlanta and New Orleans, as well as Charleston. They currently receive revenue through advertisements for local businesses and booking hotels.

THE CONCEPT:

Mr. McGarry envisions creation of a new category on his website specifically for local writers to post their work, which may or may not necessarily be targeted to commercial interests, thereby adding a vibrant literary component to his presentation of our community. Within that forum, writers would be given individual portfolios with profiles in which to post their work and receive feedback. That interactive ability to comment on posted work is intended to draw people into the site and engage them in the experience, so they will be more likely to keep returning, similar to other social media. This is a work in progress and open to suggestions. Specifically, he welcomed a question about creating an additional category for photographers. He is eager to do what he can to bring our city alive on his website.

THE DEAL:

At the present moment, Capitis Media is not prepared to offer monetary compensation. Instead, they will leverage their technical expertise and infrastructure to guide traffic toward your work so you can gain more visibility online. If you are to be found on the internet by potential readers who do not know you exist, you need to be located through specific criteria employed by search engines. These folks know how to make that happen. With all that exposure, there is no telling what kind of opportunities for monetary compensation may materialize.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me or Mr. McGarry directly at [address removed].

Let the creativity flow from your soul!

Dave
