Fall Picnic at the Corn Maze

  • This location is shown only to members

Our annual Fall Picnic is Saturday, 10/19 from 5-9pm. It will be at the West Farm Corn Maze in Moncks Corner. The 6-acre corn maze features 3 miles of trails as well as a mini maze for small children and a mystery to solve by collecting clues within the maze. Other attractions include a children's play area, small petting zoo, and hay rides. There is something for everyone, so come on out and join us!

We will have a potluck dinner in the party shed, so please bring a dish to share.

Admission to the farm includes the corn maze and is $8 for ages 12 and up, $3 for kids 3-12 and free for those 2 years and under. If you'd like to come, but don't want to do the maze, a reduced admission-only rate of $4 is available. These admission prices reflect a group discount, so please tell the cashier that you are with SHL to ensure you receive the discounted rate. And please note that West Farm accepts cash and checks only—no debit or credit cards.

lol! I just saw that the RSVP list for this showed 5 people but the actual turnout was 52. RSVPs can be so deceiving!

Also, for the kids (really for anyone, but especially for the kids): We will be assembling Halloween treat buckets which we will take to underprivileged kids. Exact organization is still being determined, but may be residents of Crisis Ministries, Palmetto House, My Sister's House, or possibly the Carolina Youth Development Center. We have 20 buckets. If you'd like your child to participate, please bring a treat of some sort (candy or non-food novelty item like pencils, stickers, individual craft, etc.) and your child can put your treat in each of the 20 buckets. I know it can be especially tough to find community service/volunteer opportunities for young children - so this will hopefully help small ones feel like they are helping make someone else's day a little brighter. Our older middle school youth group will be overseeing this activity, so it will offer an ideal opportunity for the older and younger kids to work together on a project which will in turn help other kids.

Joey and I had so much fun last year at this event! I was hoping we would be doing it again! Can't wait!
