Kayaking - Myrtle Beach!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the limited number of kayaks available, if you plan to attend but are not bringing your own kayak, you will need to confirm payment through the website in order to confirm your RSVP. Please use the "SPECIAL EVENT BOOKING RATES" about halfway down the page - $10 for a single kayak, $20 for a tandem.http://gatorbaitkayakadventures.com/book-now.html

For all the kayakers in the group, amateur to pro, we have planned a trip to the inter-coastal waterway near Myrtle Beach where our fellow humanists, Jane and Chris Osheinbein…. who run Gator Bait Adventure Tours, have graciously opened up their calendar on Saturday, September 13th for a SHL meetup and paddle!
We will be paddling a section of the Waccamaw Blue Trail launching from Peachtree Landing in Socastee SC. We plan on arriving there around noon. And the paddle will take 2-3 hours. The only thing you need to bring is … yourself. All kayaks, paddles, lifejackets etc will be provided. There will be a $10 fee to cover these cost. So come join us for an afternoon of fun on the river!

I'm assuming we bring our own lunch and wanted to know if we would be having lunch on land as a break in the kayaking adventure. Thanks.

Jane, after you posted that, its now the post BELOW this one. :P

Jane did suggest people bring snacks or lunch, yes, Esther, though it sounds like land access will be limited. :)

Tomorrow is the big day & we're looking forward to seeing everyone! A few things to note -
We will be going out & back to the same spot about 2.5hrs on the water.
There is very limited land access once we get on the water. this a river/swamp environment.
There is no bathrooms on site, so a stop before the landing is recommended. There's a Dunkin Donuts just across the bridge that's close & easy.
Please wear shoes that can get wet, sunscreen, hat & sunglasses.
All kayaks have room for a small cooler for snacks or lunch on the water.
Chris will have his camera & take lots of pix if you don't want to bring one.
If anyone wants, we can go to lunch after at River City Cafe close by. Think that covers just about everything. Any questions just ask!

Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to attend. However, this does not free up a kayak, as I planned to bring my own. Have fun!!
