Carl Sagan Day Party

  • Nov 9, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • Darrick and Lindsay's NEW Place

Hello fellow star stuff ;)  It's almost time to celebrate Carl Sagan's many contributions to science and especially, to his promotion of the scientific understanding of our universe through his iconic Cosmos television series (the link has the entire series available to watch for free). The upcoming updated sequel featuring Neil deGrasse Tyson called Cosmos:A Space-Time Odyssey will begin to broadcast next year!

Scientific skepticism was very important to Carl. Sagan was a founding member of the Committee for Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal. Read more of this beautiful tribute to Carl...

Bring some tasty star stuff (to stuff our star selves) along with you to share. Listing food items in the comments is appreciated. Darrick and I will have some tasty H20, wine, mini sandwiches, crackers & dip, and apple pie. I won't be able to make it from scratch; if anyone is inclined to, let me know.

"If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe." ~Carl Sagan

Around 8:30pm; a galactic surprise... (dress comfortably)

FYI: We recently realized that our living room has lead paint among a few window/molding areas. Darrick and I have no sanding/construction going on and there are no loose paint chips lying about. For your information, here is a link to CDC on lead paint.

Lindsay :)

We love planning these events to get us all together for a little food, fun, and activity. Sorry you could not make it to this party, but maybe we'll see you soon at the next.

Thanks for the wonderful Carl Saga day party. The astronomer game was fun and informative. My two teammates were very into it. It was very good to see Lindsay so lively.

I am thinking of bringing my garlic-ginger broccoli.
That way, I am assured a cooked vegetable.

If your cooked vegetable is really good, I would not be to sure. You may want to put some in your pocket before you bring it into the house.

I will probably bring a fruit plate.
