LOTR: Death Penalty Discussion with David K. Williams

The death penalty: Just another failed big government program that “conservatives” embrace. Learn why it has no place in any limited government philosophy.

Join fellow libertarians and voluntarists for another fun Liberty on the Rocks happy hour! We'll be joined by David K. Williams, who is running for Attorney General. He'll be discussing his views on the death penalty and why it should be abolished.

Liberty on the Rocks is all about networking, community building and learning from one another. Attendance ranges from 20-60 people depending on the discussion, so you are guaranteed to make some new friends!

Networking is from 6-7PM, followed by a 30-minute discussion with Q & A (and more networking!)

Hope to see you there,

Amanda J. Muell

    Hey Laura WD,
    I'd be inclined to agree with you except for the fact that there are so many wrongful convictions. Look at Tim Masters here in CO. It's bad enough that he was railroaded in his teenage years and had to spend two decades in prison before it was proven that he was innocent. Imagine if he had been executed before this was found out. At least he's free now instead of dead.

      That's why you make it so that IF the prosecution (including the police, fire, etc.) withholds ANY "Exculpatory Evidence", that They are subject to FELONY charges that equal to the amt. of time of the original sentencing & 2x the amt. time the person served (also including time served while waiting for & during trial);
      & if the person convicted has already been executed, it's an automatic "Capital Murder" charge.

      This might not change much, but it Would put the prosecution on notice.

    As a Jeffersonian...
    I not only SUPPORT the DEATH PENALTY, but also believe that it ought to be out in PUBLIC VIEW, like it used to be, & nothing so gentle/quiet as "Lethal Injection".
    If the person has done something heinous that they deserve the Death Penalty, let them suffer as-much-as their victims did.

    So, Mr. Williams, I will NOT be voting for you.

    Yesterday I sent an email through meetup, but I don't know if it got through. Anyway, I know that some libertarians will want to go to the LOTR thing to discuss the death penalty with Mr. Williams, but any libertarians who are interested can take on the thankless (probably) task of explaining why the minimum wage is bad, especially for minority youth, can crash the Obamites' "day of action" to raise it taking place at the same time. It is at 2961 Roslyn st. I would do it but the location is too far away for me to get there on my bike.
