Have you heard of the Lean Startup? It's a group of methods for starting and running a business, and it has its roots in lean manufacturing, customer development and agile methodology. We're kicking off with a primer on Lean Startups by Nathaniel Talbott of Terralien; no need to bring anything except a desire to learn.

As part of this first meeting we'll be soliciting feedback on where you'd like to see the group go, so come armed with any suggestions or thoughts you have.

    Think we're going to keep it lean. If I had any idea this many people where coming I would of raised the $ to feed us. Next time.

    I didn't raise my hand to suggest this since I didn't see the entire presentation - but I would like to suggest that Beth from B-corp http://www.bcorporation.net come and talk as I think this would dovetail nicely with the theme and give a perspective on legal implications of being solely "for profit". Although technically based in PA, one of their principles is a local UNC MBA grad who recently spoke at our local TED event: http://www.bcorporation.net/resources/bcorp/documents/esr... Thx:)
