The Sacramento park is a landmark in the city. In June 2003, the park re-opened after improvements were made to beautify the existing plaza, which has been a focal point for Sacramento for over 100 years. Concerts and special events take place often at the park since it is located in the center of the downtown area. Friday Night Concerts in the Park take place every May - mid-August on a stage located at the north side of the plaza. Most of the artists scheduled to perform are well known in the area and play a variety of music. Alive & Kicking publisher and music promoter Jerry Perry books the music for the concerts that can bring in hundreds of fans!!

Friday Night Concerts are FREE
Lawn Chairs & Picnics are welcome
Beer @ Wine Garden for 21 and older(w/ID)
Food & Beverages are available for purchase
Parking available on street and around plaza for all events

June 5th: Bucho - Happy Mayfield - Righteous Movement

We personally enjoy the band Bucho but do not know much about the other bands other than Righteous Movement appears to be a lot of rap. We plan on getting there later around 6:30.

We inconspicuously bring our wine in a Coleman container as no bottles are allowed.

For what it is worth, KCRA 3 just said the rain will mostly be limited to the foothills and above this evening with only a slight chance of scattered showers across the valley... A little rain won't hurt anyone! See ya there!

We'll be up near the sound mixing board along the fence that separates the beer garden. Bring your blankets and put it right next to the fence so people won't line the fence in front of you;-)

Gail they have never checked our containers as they are only concerned with glass containers. Lynda at this time 11:44 I see 40% day chance and then it goes down to 30% chance, so we will be there with our umbrellas if it looks impending. If it gets bad we'll take it across the street to one of the local restaurants.

    •  This was a great event for the 3 phases of fun! Christina's afterward was great with the duck and wine then the Torch Club. Was one of the best times I've had for a Friday night in the park event.
    •  nice venue, would've been better if I could have met up w/ anyone from the group. It was my first free concert in the park.
