Once a year, the Auburn Recreation District (ARD) and generous sponsors host
PARTY IN THE PARK.
A free event to the community.
Bands, great food, live entertainment and more.

The Waybacks music is about as easy explain as describing the Yosemite Valley to someone over the phone, you just can’t do it. Think Charlie Parker meets Woody Guthrie meets Jerry Garcia meets Jimmy Page, then while you are at it, throw in some Vassar Clements, David Grisman and just maybe you begin to get the idea.

For Kate Gaffney, music “is all about the songs and the players,” and her second full-length album, The Coachman (DIG Music), finds her blending soulful songwriting and resonant baritone with players she admires from both the Americana and jam-band scenes.

This venue does say you cannot bring your own alcohol, but it is available in their beer and wine garden, so I am not going to say you can bring wine in a plastic container. You can bring a picnic and low chair or blanket.

I will be coming from work in EDH, so I will look for you by the mixing board...or I will call your cell when I get there.

Would anyone like to commute? Call us at the number above, but we are thinking in Roseville at Sunsplash parking lot near the gas station?

    •  This park is one of the nicest in the area! Kate Gaffney was good and we'll look forward to seeing her again in the coming weeks. The Waybacks were excellent and in fact a surprise as their myspace (recordings) fall a bit flat. This music was varied and well executed. The interaction between the guitarist and fiddle player who both played the mandolin and both sang was top rate! The wine & food that we shared in combination with the music really made this the best park venue yet this summer!
    •  Nice venue and had a very good time. The band was great. It was nice meeting the others.
