Sacramento Wine Lovers are you in for a treat! Steve Zeigler has been to a couple of our outings and apparently really likes us because he has partnered up with the Steel Station in Roseville to offer us a full evening of wine tasting and dinner with good entertainment including Music & Dancing. Lucchesi Winery will be pouring several of their award winning wines along with Quilici Vinyards, a boutique winery from Butte County that makes five outstanding red varietals.

Wine tasting 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
Buffet dinner 7:30 P.M. (A full glass of the wines from the tasting will be complementary with dinner and additional glasses can be purchased at a discount during dinner)
Live band at 9:00 P.M. (Renegade…A tribute to Styx)
Menu for wine tasting:
Prime Rib (carved buffet side)
Grilled Chicken Breast with rosemary citrus sauce
Harvest Rice Pilaf
Zigatos house Salad
Grilled vegetables
Sourdough Bread with Butter
Chef’s choice Dessert
One Glass of Wine
Coffee or Tea

So where else are you going to get all this which includes the cover charge for one LOW price?
Price: $28.00 (Includes tax and tip)

* For directions and pictures of the place see their website listed below

Please RSVP before this fills up and be responsible for your "yes" as this one will get you a BIG FAT BLACK X by your name if you don't show when you say you are going to. 3 X's and your history! It's just plain rude and economically destructive to our hosting restaurant as well when they plan on food for a certain number of people and there are no shows.

*Le Casque brings their Bordeaux and Rhone style wines from the Sierra Foothills. They will be the first of the Placer County wines to be featured. Casque Wines is celebrating their 1st Anniversary of releasing wines and winning some great awards along the way, including a Bronze Award this year at the California State Fair for their 2006 Cabernet Franc and a Silver for their 2006 Syrah. After the free wine tasting, you will have a chance to purchase Le Casque wines by the glass.

* Basic will be providing their delicious gourmet pizza, but you may want to get there before 7:00 if you want free pizza with your wine tasting. There will also be live music provided by local talented guitarist Adam Donald (rock/acoustic/indie).

*Basic has a great space that our biggest crowd(s) of wine lovers have enjoyed in the past and we are sure this time will be just as popular. The pours per glass after the free tasting are generous and reasonably priced. Along with free pizza and hors d'oeuvres, Basic has you covered. At 8:00 pm the tasting, free pizza and live music ends, but the party isn't over, they will continue with a Live DJ and $3 drink specials.

http://www.hickerphoto.com/data/media/3/wine-shop_32416.jpgMost of us can't travel to France or Spain these days, so lets try to party like they do. You got it, let's try some wine from these countries. There have been great whites and reds coming from regions in France and Spain for years.

Liz will be hosting this affair at her home. She is excited to show off her newly landscaped backyard and what better way than to have a party! She does ask that everyone be sensitive to the fact she wants NO RED WINE ON THE WHITE CARPET. If you are not sure of your ability, then please spend more time out back or at least on the tiled floors :)

Please bring a wine of your choice that comes from France or Spain and a dish to hopefully pare with it. So we're moving from Italy (our last home themed party at Shellys), yet still maintaining a Mediterranean flair. These parties have proven to be great fun allowing newer members to meet in a more laid back environment and all of us to enjoy the diversity of Northern California wines, food, and beyond.

Anyone have some French or Spanish music to bring?

There is seating for 24 comfortably, so those who can bring an extra chair or two would be appreciated;-)
Also you can call Liz at the number listed to offer a table or two for the back yard if you have that.

$1 per event fee is expected as usual, as the organizer pays meetup to have this site for you wine lovers.

This event will sell out as it has the last couple of years, so don't delay in getting your tickets now!
Come taste the fine wines of Amador county and tour the historic Preston Castle. Experience the history of Preston and feel the sensation of the past. Attendees will sample fine wines from commemorative castle wine glasses and enjoy a variety of hors d'ourves. You will not need to have dinner after this event, as you will be totally stuffed on the hors d’oeuvres. They do something a little different than most wine tasting events with several of the wines being poured for sale by the glass. That way if you find a wine you especially like you can purchase a nice full glass of it to enjoy with the hors d’ oeuvres. The patio area of the Castle is where there will be over 30 round tables that you can relax at while enjoying the festivities, listening to the live music and enjoying your wine. The wine is being poured in the basement of the Castle, a truly unique place unlike anything else. Click here for information on the History of Preston Castle

Please RSVP here so we know to look for you as part of the group and make sure you have a photo of yourself on your profile and then purchase tickets online at http://www.prestoncastle.com/wine.html

We plan on going to the State Fair on Wednesday and Friday and would love to meet anybody at the
wine garden around 5:15 to chill out and taste some wine who is also going to the fair that evening.

The wine garden is a great place to meet and cool off on a hot day with their misters. The wine garden showcases CA wines that have competed in the oldest and most prestigious wine competition in North America.

We plan to attend the Three Dog Night concert, so will be heading over there around 6:15. Legendary music icons, THREE DOG NIGHT, enter their 4th decade bringing with them some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group moved more records, sold more concert tickets or achieved more top 10 hits. In 2008 THREE DOG NIGHT continues to top the list of artists with the best "Billboard Top 100 Chart" average!

http://www.threedognight.com/images/home_band_03.jpg

THREE DOG NIGHT's hits wind through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures -- songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World," "Shambala", "One" and "Black and White" serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize THREE DOG NIGHT's continuing popularity.

After the concert, it is pretty typical to head over to Blues and Brews for Terry Hanke. He and his band play great blues to dance to!

Feel free to ring me at 916-715-9732 about meeting up this evening. Keep in mind that there will be loud music 7:30-9:00.
