An outstanding design teacher shows us the relationship between output & design

Learn how to understand the relationship between output and design, learn how to make output and design decisions intentionally, and save tons of time and expense!

Who is this for?
Anyone who does design, from absolute beginner to seasoned professional. Whether you use Apple Pages or Adobe InDesign or any other type of software, you'll be able to learn a lot at this session.

What if I don't do design? Is this still for me?
Even if you only use Microsoft Word or send emails, you are making decisions about design and output. This is your chance to learn how to make those decisions intentionally and get the best possible results.

Why should I come?
Many people don't do these steps intentionally, or they find out at the end that they did them wrong, and need to make many changes. No need to learn this the hard and expensive way! Come to our Wednesday February 6th 2013 meeting and learn how to make output and design decisions correctly from one of the finest teachers anywhere.

What will be covered at the presentation?
Michel Ségard will show us how design affects output. You will get to see many practical examples. A few are listed here. For example, it's critical to know how the printer's margins can affect the layout of the page and he'll show us how to find out this information. Another simple example is when to use PDF as your solution versus other types of formats. Are there times when you should send your file to a printer (the human kind, not the machine on a desk) and if so, when? If you make an e-book, what design control do you lose? Can you indicate crop marks in something like Microsoft Word? There are many points in the design process where an output decision is connected to a design decision. Starting now you can make those decisions intentionally, and get the best results from your work.

How much is admission?
There is no admission charge to the event, it is open to the public. Everyone is invited.

This was my first time attending this group's meeting and I was very pleased with the presentation. I thought M.S. gave us a lot to think about when considering a project's outcome but it was relayed in very simple terms. Thanks to him for making me feel at ease my first time out.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
