Full Moon Drum Circle Picnic & Camping!

Drum Circle Picnic & Camping

Join us for a picnic, drum circle and camping.  We invite drummers, hoopers and dancers to join us for a special drum circle, picnic and camping.  There's always an extra drum or instrument, so please join us if you don't have a drum and want to participate!

There will be a free will offering to offset our expenses.  You can throw in a dollar or more to help defray our costs reserving the private site.

What to bring

  • Some food to share
  • Your own beverage
  • Blanket or Chair
  • Firewood
Please help with wood so we can have a good bonfire.  The only wood we will have is what members bring.

Camping
If you're interested in camping overnight, please email Kathy thru meetup. We need a total count ahead of time to according to our reservation agreement.

Directions to Lake Farm Park Group Campsite
Exit US Hwy 12/18 at South Towne Drive and go south. Turn left onto Moorland Road (Moorland will turn into Lake Farm Road).  To reach the group campsite continue on Lake Farm Road and turn east onto Libby Road. Look for the group campsite entrance on your left marked by a bunch of red balloons.  Follow the road towards the prairie where the group campsite is located.

    Thanks Kathy!

Merle, Max and I had a good time. I'm still cracking up thinking about how Max was 'dog talkin' to Garret (who probably didn't know it)...it's that dog howl that says, "No need to cook that perfectly good brat. Let me take it off your stick for you."

Awesome group of drummers, percussionists, dancers, hoopers.

I can't accurately describe how good a time I had, drumming in front of a roaring fire, people dancing to the music, great talk, new friends . . . . I could go on. If anyone missed this, don't miss the next one! I had a magnificent time, wish I could've stayed longer . . . .

Hi all! I'm hoping to be there around 6ish . . . and I'm bringing firewood, but I'm uncertain about what food items to bring? Any helpful suggestions are appreciated. Or you're liable to wind up with smoked broccoli, or something equally strange! :)

:-) In addition to a bundle of wood, I am bringing easy snacking foods, which to me are: cheese, crackers, summer sausage, tomatoes, and olives. Not sure if that helps, maybe bring something you like?

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I think it would be a good idea if we could widen the circle so anyone who wishes to dance can get in the middle. With the hundreds of drum circles in which I've participated around bonfires/campfires, I've noticed that very often drummers feed of of the dance and dancers feed off of the drumming. I don't know if very many dancers will come, but if they do I think it would be great if they had plenty of space to move around the fire. Whether I dance or drum, I know it would be more inspiring for me. Just food for thought. I'll do my best to get there early to help facilitate the creation of dance space, if others are into it.

pardon typos, I meant "just as anyone can invite anyone . . .," in case it wasn't self evident.

    Hi Kathy,
I think my little group from the Rockford area will now be 4 individuals (instead of two) - two tents. We are all looking forward to it!

    Hi Kathy,
Please put me down for a "yes" on overnight camping. (I saw your post about the $10)

    Lisa,
I am Kathy the host for this camping and drumming extravaganza. Camping is 10 dollars a person payable to me when you arrive. It is a large group spot, there are no individual sites. We will be doing a collection for the reserving of the site which you will be exempt from if you pay to camp. Not everyone stays overbite. Hope that info helps. See you there!

I am from out of town and want to reserve a camp site. I don't know who Kathy is or how to contact her. Please advise.

    Hey guys
Me and my family came last week to the full moon and fire event. We arrived at 7:15 and everyone had left. How long does the meet up usually last? We were really looking forward to the event. My granddaughter kept saying dont forget we are going to the drum fire lol .
