lots of fun. great group leader; he also does some great chants to go along with the drumming. nice location, beautiful down on campus. if you don't like all the sun bring sunblock, a hat, a beach umbrella.
don't worry if you're a new drummer - though there were some really good drummers at the circle there were a lot of us amateurs, too. the group leader is a real patient and helpful guy. and everyone was real friendly. the size of the group kept changing as people came who weren't able to get there at 3:00 and as others left who couldn't stay so late. and passersby would stop just out of curiosity. every age group was represented, from little kids to "80-somethings". I think it kept going till about 6:00/6:30. it's like they used to say in the old days: a good time was had by all!

Judging by the number of people drawn to the drumming, and the number that picked up a drum or rhythm instrument to play along, it was in the category of great. The only thing that dropped it lower, for me, is that I am so out of practice that my hands wanted to die! The sun was a bit harsh as well, but for the most part that is a good thing (compared to rain, anyway) and shaded alternatives on the square were discussed... so it's all good. Thanks to everyone involved!

Ya, I parked in a ramp, and paid $3.10. Hard on the budget when unemployed. I need free, free for now. Was great fun anyway, even in spite of too much sun. I love the way drumming draws a crowd. It is traditionally used as a call to gather tho... so that is very appropriate. Thanks to the folks that organized it!! As well as those that attended.
