My first experience was back in 1992, at a little Rainbow gathering in SW wisconsin. I had to have more of that. I began making my own drums in 1996, and I still want more. Let's create a great ryhthm for our present and future.
I love the campouts the best. If anyone wants suggestions for great places to go all over the US, let me know, there are a lot of them. If you have ideas for a good drum camp site, pass it along, please!
Yup. And extras for a whole group.
My thanks go out to Cherylann Kelly, Ubaka Hill, and the dudes from Rhythm Quest in Florida. I learned a lot for you all. Thanks to all the drummers at Lothlorian, Starwood, PSG, and all the bonfires for being there to create the sound with.
America is creating it's own style of drumming. It's a new culture that did not exist here before. It is something that the children will grow up with because we created it here. I love the improv of an unstructured circle. It's new every time.
When a group of drummers is in the groove around a fire, and folks are dancing to the music we make, it's pure magic. I'm all about having those moments being frequent and high caliber. Sure, I do make drums, but it's about gathering the people.
This is where it's happening!
