Doctrine is "a selected set of PHP libraries primarily focused on providing persistence services and related functionality". If you have no idea what this vague description means, this talk is for you. Come learn what Doctrine is, why it's more than just an ORM, and why it may be a good fit for your next project. We'll be covering installation, using the provided command line tools, and how to work with Entities and relationships.

Michael has been a PHP developer since 2006 and a member of Madison PHP since 2010. Currently, he's a Senior Software Engineer for Kaplan Professional and before that, he did e-commerce development for a Wisconsin-based Internet retailer.
