Hello Madisonian Heathens,

I had HIGH hopes of scheduling a Sam Singleton Atheist Evangelist Show at the Regent St Retreat in November. But, Brota who does the booking has declined to continue the process we had begun. I don't know why, but I always suspect it has to do with hostility or fear. Could be that he just doesn't think he can make enough money on it, but he will not respond to my inquiries.

Ingrid had given me a list of at least a dozen good places, and I checked them all. If anyone has a theater or club contact you wish to pass along, or any other suggestions, please send them. Madison is one town where Brother Sam is determined to play. We will probably be looking at March or April 2010.

In the meantime, he'll be in Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria, Asheville, Charlotte, and Kansas City between now and Dec 2. Tell your friends!

Subject: [skeptics-191] New Meetup: Madison Science Pub
Date: Sat, 17 Oct[masked]:41:21 -0400

Announcing a new Meetup for Madison Skeptics!

What: Madison Science Pub

When: October 25,[masked]:00 PM

Brocach Irish Pub
7 W Main St
Madison, WI 53703

The October 25 Science Pub will be a discussion of science education with four Madison High School science teachers and a university lecturer who works in professional development programs for science teachers.

If you believe the hype in the press and the blogosphere, you'd conclude that science education is in tatters. Come and listen to what's going on right here in Madison. Be prepared for a conversation about kids, education, national priorities and obstacles. Come with your questions and comments. Come to listen or share. Come for the conversation (and beer).
