Adobe Creative Cloud - New Features + Health Insurance for Freelancers, Plus!

  • Oct 23, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • The Creative Company

6:30 - 6:45

Unless you have perfect health, New Zealand citizenship, or live in a cave, you know that the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. "ObamaCare" may change how you pay for and access health care. The ACA will affect small business, startups and freelancers alike. Lori Compas of the Wisconsin Business Alliance will give a short presentation on what these changes mean to you.

6:45 - 7:45

Kevin Stohlmeyer, Adobe Community Professional, presents new Creative Cloud offerings from Adobe. Learn about how you can use the Creative Cloud to it's fullest potential with synching, TypeKit and Behance. Preview the new features in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Muse, Edge Animate and learn how to take your print designs further. Use your Photoshop and Illustrator files to create CSS? Create an iPad app using InDesign? Yes!

As usual, meetup starts at 6pm, presentations at 6:30pm.

Great meeting - lots of concise info about important topics. It's been a while since I've had any formal training in Adobe products, so I always enjoy Kevin Stohlmeyer's talks. He lets me know what's new and what I'll want to explore further on my own.

It was a very good meeting. I was pleasantly surprised to see Lori Compass there to give a presentation on the ACA. I really respect her for what she did a few years ago, stepping up to run for the State Senate during the darkest days in Wi. A hero in my eyes.

Kevin gave a great presentation on the Adobe products. I got all my questions answered about the Creative Cloud. As a hobbyist with Photoshop I was really reluctant to upgrade to the Creative Cloud because I didn't understand this whole subscription-to-software concept, because I was very comfortable with the purchase-once-and-you-own-it paradigm. Kevin told me that I could always go back to CS6 if I became unhappy with the CC subscriptions (as long save my files with maximum compatibility). So I might give it a try. Thanks Kevin.
