Like Jason mentioned, I know Design Madison uses the Brink Lounge for some of their meetings. I'm not certain if there is a cost associated. I know my groups use the Goodman Community Center, that's eastside. The cost for us is $25, $15 for the room, and then $10 for projector and screen rental. But their space/calendar is rapidly booking up.

Also, almost all the neighborhood libraries have rooms, I'm not certain how much in use they are. The main library is pretty popular, but Hawthorne Branch is on East Washington before Ella's Deli. I don't know if that's too far or not.

This wouldn't provide a screen or projector, but that Irish Pub on Main Street,?Brocach has free meeting space. I know the Onion uses them for their book reading club. The assumption being that people would by drinks or food (I don't know if there is a requirement for that though)

Also, there is campus, but ?someone would need to be a student or staff member to book. It could be anyone from in the group. Depending on the building, a number of the rooms have projectors built in, but if not, borrowing from the library or DoIT is also free for a student or faculty member.

Dear Web Design & Development Meetup Members:

We need a host! I am looking for a permanent, downtown or central location for our meetups. Criteria are basic:

  • Room to seat about 20
  • Projector
  • Available from 6 - 8:30 pm, one weeknight per month

Please talk to your employers, colleagues, friends, etc. to see if they are interested in hosting. As you know, our meetup is a community group and not for profit. Hosts benefit from increased awareness of their company or organization, and create goodwill in the web design community.

Note: I have checked the public library and MATC, neither are options at this time.

Our next meetup is tentatively scheduled for May 14.

Thanks,

Ben Seigel
