Inline Packages and Code Snippets

Presenter: David Delikat

Sometimes CPAN modules are just overkill or the you need to tweak the modules to fit every need; and sometimes the
code you re-use isn't really a whole package. I have a library of code that is designed to be pasted into one time scripts. In line packages and code snippets are handy for building one time scripts that often repeat important features. I will demonstrate a few packages that I have developed over the past few years and frequently insert into scripts to reduce development time.

David provided a nice selection of his often-used snippets (for Queuing, Tee-ing output, using Getopt::Long...) and showed how he integrates them into his workflow (my description, not his :-)
When they come with an expanded version of each snippet (so I can tease apart the very efficient&dense functions / elements) and some examples to show them working, I will come knocking at his github site to download them and put 'em in my toolbox too.

We talked a bit about upcoming Meetups; JT took some notes on the minitalk plans, but that is now 2 months away (instead of next month, now that we have a MongoDB speaker!)

Sorry to miss this one, it really sounds fun. Lost a family member on the East Coast. See you in a couple months.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
