Maidenhead's First Meetup Group for active professionals in Maidenhead and surrounding areas Photobucket

Great mix of people, fun and interesting events - its all happening here!

I created Maidenhead Social in 2009 after I found myself in a situation where I needed to re-create the social life I left behind when I moved to Maidenhead. I enjoy entertaining, throwing open the doors for parties, sharing interests and hobbies and most importantly meeting new people. I have always been a people person and as a marketing professional, it is an important part of my job. What you will hopefully see is a genuine interest in organising events, creating a fun atmosphere and my love for making people happy.

This group is built on reputation and recommendation which speaks volumes in terms of how this group is run and the "community" feeling we have managed to achieve since 2009.

I am honoured to have a number of wonderful people in the group who came forward to support my idea by helping to organise events. We all do it on a voluntary basis despite our full time jobs and busy schedule.

We do our part in creating a community of meeting online to meet offline. We put a lot of effort in organising interesting, fun and well attended events which range from house parties to social walks to pub drinks to safari suppers.

Presentable, active and suitable single, married, new in town, expats or locals are welcome to request to join. The purpose of this group is to bring together like minded people for friendship and fun times!

You are likely to find other people with similar interests and hobbies through our diverse and interesting events. For single people, it is true that you are likely to meet suitable people whilst having fun! We have some wonderful people who have met others through our events.

Some of our meet ups include:
Dining out, badminton, pub crawls, Safari Supper, cinema nights, tennis, table tennis, Tenpin bowling, night outs, pub quizzes, board games, party games, house parties, Eurovision & Xfactor finals party, Wii Nights, wine tasting, potlucks, cultural events, drinking & dancing, theme parks, day trips, cooking, girls nights, social walking, eating out and so much more!

To join us:

  • Please upload a recent picture of yourself. We will decline fuzzy pictures or of your pets, celebrities or objects. The whole idea is to make it easier to recognise you at events and for members to know who to expect. If you need to hide who you are then this is not the group for you.
  •
  • Kindly fill out the profile page as an introduction to who you are so we can get to know you a little before you arrive at an event. It also helps to stimulate conversation for example if you have a unique hobby, there are others who may want to speak to you about it!

IF your membership request has been accepted, you must sign up for your two free events within two months of joining otherwise you will be removed.

Membership

Pay your annual membership contribution at or before your 3rd event to become a full member.

Once you are a full member, you can attend as many events as you want and even organise your own events! There is no additional charge for attending events.

Simply attend at least on an average one event per month to keep your membership!

The club is a not for profit and any surplus goes back into the Group in one way or the other.

With nearly 15 to 35 events every month to cater for most age groups, interests and area, we are certainly the busiest and most value for money social group!

Why a membership fee?

I found that consistency is the best policy. Everyone pays a membership to belong to the group and have access to the more private meets in people's homes. It has two purpose - incentivies people to be an active participant of the community AND it helps the group run smoothly. It also allows us to do fun things like run competitions, pay for meals at mingles, subsidise events and cover our costs such as the Meetup membership, website, advertising and equipment. Everyone pays the same but what you get out of the group is entirely up to you.

We reserve the right to politely decline unsuitable membership requests without any explanation.

So if you don't hear from us, it is possible your membership was unsuccessful. Please don't email us!
