Workshop description:Come as a beginner, or expand on MOFGA or pemaculture classes, putting knowledge into hands-on action! Create highly-productive, weed-free organic garden beds for annual and perennial food crops without the need for tilling or digging. Beds of any shape or size can be created almost anywhere, turning lawns into edible abundance!
Enjoy classroom time, engaged discussion, a slide show about the no-dig method, plenty of Q&A, then go "hands-on", creating one of these very garden beds outdoors in the high school courtyard.
Leave fully prepared to replicate these techniques at home with free or low-cost materials found in most neighborhoods. Ages 16 and up.
Registration: You can RSVP here but please confirm your registration and pay via the Scarborough Adult Ed web site: http://scarborough.maineadulted.org/courses/course/food_not_lawns_nodig_raised_garden_beds
