Winter Cache Project Work Party

  • May 26, 2013 · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

We are co-operatively farming a plot of land in Cumberland.  We have open work parties every sunday from 10-2. We welcome folks who have no experience growing there own food but would like to try without commiting to a whole season of farm work. We also welcome back-yard gardeners and seasoned farmers who want to spend an afternoon sharing their wisdom and learning from our experience as well as just working with and chatting with folks who have similiar interests on a beautiful piece of land.

Winter Cache Project is an open community with the goal of empowering ourselves to grow our own food, skill-share and practice working co-operatively.

Volunteers/members can commit to the season in order to get a share of the winter crops or just come as their time permits for a day trade of summer veggies.

All-ages, skill-levels welcome!

Don't forget a water bottle and lunch!

If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail [masked]

Carpool leaving from 200 Anderson street (in front of Urban Farm Fermentory). Meet us at 9:30; we will be leaving at 9:40 for a 10-2 work party!

See you on Sunday!

The mission of the Winter Cache Project (WCP) is to free ourselves from a dependence on industrial agriculture and to increase our community food security by developing sustainable local food systems. By growing and storing our own food to last throughout the winter and educating ourselves about agricultural issues, we aim to create a working example of how we can come together as a community to provide for our basic needs by employing the principles of mutual aid, equal access, and self-determination.

Hi, the postponement of the permablitz today, opens time for me to get wet with you tomorrow.
Rachel, not sure if I will carpool. Will send you an email by 8:15 tomorrow to let you know one way or another, if that works for you?
