Movie Night: Earth Days

Sep 27

“ A beautifully composed tribute to visionary thinking and political ingenuity” -- THE NEW YORK TIMES

Film and Discussion ~ Hosted by Beth Fitzgerald
Visually stunning, vastly entertaining and awe-inspiring.

Earth Days looks back to the dawn and development of the modern environmental movement – from it’s post-war rustlings in the 1950’s and the 1962 publication of Rachel Carson’s incendiary bestseller Silent Spring, to the first wildly successful 1970 Earth Day celebration and the subsequent firestorm of political action.

Beth Fitzgerald is an organizer of the cosmetology group program at the Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church. She has partnered with others to host many programs there and in other communities spaces featuring the work of Brian Swimme, Thomas Berry, and others. She is a local lover of life, film and really good books. She loves to engage people in exploration of the cosmos, the creative spirit and reverence for Mother Earth. She also practices guided meditation, massage therapy and gardening out of her home in Portland.
