Thanks to everyone who came out on such a cold night to hear about Terra Madre and further the discussion of our food "landscape" here in Maine.

Very enjoyable meeting. Lisa had the long buffet table set up very attractively with a beautiful display of shiny chocolates (among other things) and the pot luck offerings in general were delicious.

The slide show as a backdrop really helped convey the flavor, literally and figuratively, of the Terra Madre conference. And the panel discussion and questions following were quite interesting and informative. Pairing up with like minded meetup groups makes very good sense in our contracting economy. We can tackle some of the present and upcoming societal issues with more brain power.

Thank you Lisa for yet another wonderful and community-building event. We enjoyed hearing about the Terra Madre conference and felt a shared sense of solidarity with other farmers around the world through your descripitions, and slide show. Especially valuable was Robin and Ted's information and concern ( about the state of Maine fisheries including what we can do to protect and support sustainable fishing in the gulf of Maine. Their groundbreaking and timely work to protect our beautiful (and potentially plentiful!) coastal waters is very much appreciated.
