Join us for the next event in this season of permablitz! On Sunday, October 27th we'll be converging on Leslie and Bob's in Portland for the day.
Permablitzes are day-long work parties that put permaculture design into action! Imagine more than twenty permaculture folks working side-by-side for six hours resulting in more than 180 labor hours completed in one day, great fun, conversation, and camaraderie as well as experiential learning for all!
Our host: Leslie Pohl is a full-time working mom. She was introduced to Permaculture by her husband, Bob Fiske. She joined the meetup in the Fall of 2011, then took the Permaculture Design Course (PDC) in 2012 with Lisa Fernandes. Since then she has attended many Permaculture Movie nights, and has participated in three Permablitz’. She also apprenticed with Lisa and Dave weekly over the summer. She is completely psyched about all aspects of Permaculture and is excited to be part of the movement to transform the world by learning and sharing these skills. Her husband, Bob, has been working out of town since May, and unfortunately will not be back in Maine for the October Permablitz.
This blitz will push our skills as a community and has lots of great learning for city-dwellers in particular. Leslie and Bob's home is a very small urban lot - narrow and shaded, with significant lead contamination. We'll be working creatively on that section, as well as doing some urban fruit tree pruning, work on their community garden plot around the corner (putting it to bed, permie-style, for the winter), and perhaps some creative bike storage!

This is part of a series of permablitzes in and around Portland in 2013. Taking part in these events is one of the best ways to "put your name in the hat" for permablitzes at your own place in the future!
