Join us for a small group skill-share from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the home of meetup member Elaine McGillicuddy to learn about how to prune grape vines. Member David Whitten will be leading the skill-share.
Grape vines are typically pruned in late winter before they break dormancy for the spring. This is done for a number of reasons, including enhancing the health of the vines, the fruiting capacity of the vines, ensuring air flow around the vines (to minimize fungal problems) and others.
Please dress in layers for the weather. Rain or snow date will be the following Sunday at the same time. Bring a notebook and/or camera to document your learnings. You could also bring pruners and, if time allows, David will talk about how to maintain sharp and sanitary pruners for the best vine pruning success.
Tea and snacks provided!
