Portland Permaculture DIY Craft Night

  • Dec 5, 2012 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Join together with several permaculture members for a Do-It-Yourself Craft Night in Portland on Munjoy Hill (location likely to rotate in future). Bring along knitting, sewing or any small crafts you're interested in working on while meeting with kindred spirits in our group. All abilities and craft types are encouraged to attend. This will very well could be the start of a monthly gathering!

Permaculture has a strong DIY ethos and as we move into the "darker months" this is a great opportunity to meet in small groups.

This is not a potluck meal event, but feel free to bring drinks or snacks to share. Feel free to use the comments area of this page to talk about what kind of craft you might want to bring to the event or other similar "small circle" events you might be interested in seeing happen.

Great to meet with all of you! Look forward to another gathering in the New Year and hope I can stay longer! The take away for me with my flag project was to articulate that they are for meditation rather than prayer which they are loosely based on like the Tibetan prayer flags.
Anna, thank you so much for hosting.
Cheers! and lots of sparkly lights for all to transition into the beautiful darkness of winter.
    Let it snow!

I will show how to make wire wrapped pendants. If you have a favorite rock, stone to wrap, bring them. I have some sea glass although it is not good. In the future, I have some scrapbooking tools that I never used. I signed up for a class but it was cancelled. So, I am hoping someone does scrapbooking.

This is great! I have a bunch of craft supplies I can dig up. Markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, scissors, embroidery thread, some fabric scraps. I will be a few minutes late however!

How about a Valentine crafting event in January? or early Feb? as part of the DIY event?

I have some supplies to share: ribbons, sequins, some paper, some yarn, some beads...but I only have one glue stick and one pair of scissors. If others have supplies they'd like to bring and share, that would be great! I also don't have a lot of chairs, so if anyone has a folding chair or a crazy creek to bring. We have a clean carpet to sit on too.

What a great idea! I won't be able to make it on December 5th, but hope there are more.
