Join us for the latest season of our $1 Permaculture Movie Nights! An enriching and affordable way to pass a winter's evening with other members of our local permaculture group, these evenings begin with a brief potluck supper and are followed by a newish movie with relevance to ecological living, permaculture and resilience-building. This year we will be running movie nights once a month, December through April.
Our January film will be "The Amish - How They Survive," This film is the first documentary-style film ever produced solely about this segment of the Amish population. Holmes County (and the surrounding five-county area) is the home to the world's largest settlement of Amish and Mennonite people. This film should spark some interesting discussion about how we adopt methods of meeting our human needs in a post-carbon world. Running time 50 minutes.
6:30 Potluck supper (bring a dish to share and your potluck kit - dish/bowl/utensils/cup)
7:00 Announcement (bring any you have!) followed by the movie!
8:00 Brief De-brief and Closing....
The Resilience Hub & Portland Maine Permaculture would like to thank the University of New England Environmental Council for their continued support of this movie series.
