The Resilience Hub & Portland Maine Permaculture Message Board › Permaculture Fund Raiser for Estia in Orono this Weekend
From Claudia Lowd:
Hi folks this should be a great event at 42 Mill St, downtown Orono, Maine.
Fire is one of the four elements. It is associated with the South and it feels fitting to start our four directional workshops with Fire in the Heart.
A free movie will be shown Friday 7/13 (my family's lucky day) Earth First, a story about the architect David Sheen and building healthy houses the old way while recreating village. It will start at 7 PM. Garden viewing beforehand.
The next day's workshop will have us buiding a rocket stove. A rocket stove is a low energy fast combusting stove that is easy to maek and easy to use.
Think camping or maybe outside cooking, low tech hot tub? We will also teach you the formula and technique to build an outside bread (cobb) oven and we will do a hands on repair to the present oven at 42 Mill St. Finally we will wire up a solar PV array and talk about solar energy for Maine.
The workshop will run 10 AM - 3 PM rain or shine. It has a $60 fee with generous scholarships available. A light lunch will be provided for registered participants.
To register or if you want more information call Claudia Lowd 207-949-5106 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is still a few spaces avialable for the upcoming Permaculture Design Certification Course running July 16-28, Bucksport Maine. For more info go to www.estiamaine.org
Please spread this notice and flyer far and wide. It should be a great time, very energizing.
See you Friday
